FUND-A-NEED FOR NAPA VALLEY'S FARMWORKER FOUNDATION
Vineyard workers form the foundation of our industry, and are on the frontline for quality and environmental best practices in our vineyards. Sustainability starts here. Growing world-class grapes depends on a world-class workforce.
A collaborative partnership that provides our farmworkers with top-tier education and access to community resources is vitally important in continuing to improve our collective quality of life and the product we produce.
The Napa Valley Grapegrowers is proud to produce the only comprehensive education and resources program for farmworkers in the Napa Valley covering issues that are critical for employment development, health and well-being, and our quality of winegrape production.
In 2012, the NVG educated over 2,300 farmworkers and supervisors. This number continues to grow with plans of educating over 2,500 this year alone. In March of 2013 the NVG piloted its English Literacy Program, offering 12-week award-winning language training courses with a curriculum designed specifically for Napa County farmworkers to assist them with their English literacy and communication skills.
We need your support to continue to grow the NVG Farmworker Foundation and make this opportunity available to all vineyard workers and their families. Funds raised go directly towards covering expenses related to this powerful program.
